One of the measures of broad public support are endorsements. Through newspaper editorials, resolutions of support and letters of endorsement – councils, commissions, publications, organizations and officials show their own support as well as support from the groups they represent. These prominent individuals and organizations give voice to groups of people.
Because they reflect the will of their members, readers or constituents, when key individuals or organizations support an idea their voice is amplified. When a large and diverse number of people and organizations support a project then someone who may be unfamiliar with the project details can more easily come to support that effort. Congressmen and Senators who represent an area look to these endorsements to gauge the local support for a project.
From the earliest days of our campaign we have enjoyed a broad base of support and endorsements. Brian Schweitzer, Governor of Montana, for instance, wrote a letter of support which we were able to include in our very first publications! The number of endorsements we have received has increased, over time, as we have built greater community consensus for designating Wilderness for the Scotchmans. You can view the broad array of endorsements we have received on our website:

We continue to work on building this list of endorsements. We want the chorus of our suporters to include as many diverse voices as possible. Do you belong to a group which might support the Scotchmans? We would appreciate receiving your organization’s support! Oftentimes a presentation is helpful in providing information or answering questions that boards or groups need to endorse a project. We are always happy to talk about the Scotchmans!
